Fr. Paul is currently the temporary sacramental minister in the only Catholic parish in Greenland. It had been his life-long dream to explore, Indiana Jones style, the medieval Norse/Viking ruins in southern Greenland.
He's discovered, unfortunately, how incredibly expensive everything is in Greenland. He thought he'd be able to fly in the tourist off-season to the church and farm ruins, and then back, for a couple hundred dollars, like travel between Chicago and Minneapolis.
But Fr. Paul found out that a one-way ticket alone to southern Greenland from where he is ministering in the pastor's absence, in Greenland's capital Nuuk, is itself $600.00, in a bi-plane. Roundtrip is doubling that.
Let's surprise Fr. Paul with an early Christmas gift. So what can you get a priest for Christmas? He's got all the restaurant gift cards and crucifixes and religious books that anyone could ever want or need.
Well for THIS PRIEST, how about contributing to a $3000 GoFundMe present that would take him to Greenland's "Land's End" to be the Indiana Jarvis he always wanted to be, covering flight and insanely high hotel costs.
If we can't raise the money, that's okay. He's not expecting he'll be able to make it down there now, anyway. It would be a very pleasant surprise. He returns to Minnesota on September 28th. He'd have to fly down before the snows of late September.
