German Study Abroad

My name is Deidrian Montes and I am a rising senior at Liberty High School. I have been awarded a national scholarship to further my studies in Germany once graduating high school in 2019. Since I could remember, I have always been very interested in engineering, as well as the German language. Throughout high school I have maintained a 4.7 GPA, and participated in in my school’s German club as well as Air Products’ engineering explorers post. I have also participated in programs during past summers such as Lehigh University’s Star Academy and Summerbridge, to enrich my academics. I wish to continue enriching my academics to pursue my goal of becoming a chemical engineer.

 

This summer 2018, I will take my first journey to Germany for two weeks where I will take part in language courses to prepare me for the gap year, and then return again following my senior year of high school to pursue my dream of becoming an engineer.

 

I am very excited to take on this opportunity while exploring outside of the US. While I have a very strong support system, and have been awarded a scholarship traveling costs are not covered. This is why I am turning to you—my family, friends and communities who have seen my journey and growth for so many years. With your continued support, I will be able to travel and pay for other expenses that come with my study abroad experience.
