Hi my name is Ariana and I created this page to help my best friend, Nikki, in her time of need. When we first met at work I had no idea that she would one day become my closest confidant, my go-to in hard times, and above all my dearest friend. For the past year, her health has slowly been deteriorating from unknown causes. She's seen several doctors and specialists to find the root of the issue and in 2016 alone, has gone to over fifty doctors appointments, Urgent care, and recently had to be taken to the ER. She's experienced brain fog, severe dizziness, dangerous high blood pressure when she's at rest, tachycardia (abnormally rapid heart rate), muscle and joint pain, depression, anxiety, insomnia, hives and skin dryness, kidney issues, memory loss, some transient speech impairment, and most recently, increasing hair loss. As symptoms are now aggregating and progressing time has become a critical factor, we can no longer wait. It has become evident that the insidious cause of Nikki's rapid decline is due to the toxic breast implants. Breast implant illness and toxicity has her battling autoimmune dysfunction and progressive neurological symptoms. Six years ago, after the birth of her daughter, Nikki received FDA approved Mentor Memory Gel Silicone breast implants after months of research and multiple guarantees of the safety and relative simplicity of such a procedure by surgery centers. Unfortunately, this fateful event has my closest friend growing weaker daily impairing her ability to function and enjoy day to day moments with her seven year old daughter. Breast implant toxicity affects thousands of women with little awareness about this life-threatening issue. She plans to have Dr. Busby do her explant surgery and with a small contribution, we can help her face this huge emotional challenge together by alleviating some of the financial burden. Not only does she have the expense of this surgery, but unfortunately Nikki has used up all of her PTO mostly for Doctor appointments or she was just too ill to come into work . Nikki will also have to take unpaid time off for two weeks to recover. We know that there are many causes worth supporting and we encourage you do so, but please take the time to consider helping me to care for my dearest friend as you would help yours in such a predicament. If you could please share this with your loved ones and friends to keep Breast Implant Illness Awareness going. Thank you for your time and God bless.
