Four Paws & Two Feet - Therapy Dog

I am organizing this campaign for my daughter, Emily.  Here is her story! 

Hi, my name is Emily, and I am 12 years old.  I love dogs, and would like to use that love for dogs to help other people. I have a dream to get a mini goldendoodle and raise it to be a therapy dog. After training it, I plan to take this dog into nursing homes, schools, libraries, hospitals, etc... to visit the people there. It has been scientifically proven that interacting with dogs can help with stress, loneliness, anxiety, fear, and other challenges people may face in those environments and life.

I'm really excited to tell you about "Four Paws and Two Feet!" It is what I am calling my journey to having a therapy dog. A big part of this journey will be fundraising. I will also be learning as much as I can about training and caring for dogs.

My goal is to raise 5, 000 dollars in twenty-four months. By that time I will be turning 14 and hoping to get my dog. This money will cover buying the dog, traveling 1,000 miles to get the dog, first vet and grooming expenses, puppy supplies, and training for two years.   After that I will complete a program to become a certified handler at the age of 16.

I am coordinating several different fundraisers to help my dream come true! This GoFundMe page is one of the ways I hope to do that.
