Hi, it’s time for the Fords to return to North America to connect with our families, whom we haven’t seen for years, as well as spread awareness about what’s going on here in Thailand and India. Will you help us?
We are Chinua and Rachel, and our kids, Kai, Kenya, Leafy, Solo, and Isaac. Over nine years ago, we left North America to move to India, and nearly a decade later we are still in Asia (Thailand) building Christ-Centered communities that have offered learning, connection, and the possibility to experience a community of devotion to Christ. We offer this in the global community, to people who are exploring truth and looking for meaning. Travelers from around the world have told us that these communities have made a big difference in their lives, and the last three years have been crucial, with so many good things developing. It’s powerful - this work is really paying off.
A new thing for us is that we have started to inspire brand new communities and help others to get off the ground all around the world. We are taking in volunteers and people who are curious to see how it all works. We still have so much to do, but it’s nice to look back and see that something truly unique and beautiful has formed in global spaces where the international community is vibrant. Along with helping form these dynamic communities, we work on our art and raise our family.
The really tough thing about living across the world is not being able to connect with family, or keep up important relationships back home. Our children have grown up experiencing the world, but it is crucial for them to return and connect to their roots. Its time for our family to return to Canada and the US to connect with our extended families. We really miss them, and they miss us; we are their kids, brothers, sisters, niece and nephews and grandchildren.
We are volunteers and everything we provide in our communities is free for travelers, so we rely on people around the world who resonate with our vision to keep us going. GoFundMe made it possible for us to return to the Canada and the US three years ago, something we could not have done otherwise. It was so encouraging to see how many people were willing to pitch in, a lot of little contributions go a long way.
Let’s do it again! We are trying to buy our tickets soon, and with many people working together, it makes light work of the cost. We plan to visit in June, July, and August, traveling through California, BC, and Detroit. We are so grateful already for what we have been able to do together. We are so thankful for your giving.
