On June 8, 2018, Yasmin Ahmed Abdillahi tragically passed away after a train accident in Dallas, Texas.
Originally from Texas, Yasmin also grew up in Evanston, Illinois, before settling in Roseville, Minnesota with her family.
Those who remember Yasmin will recall a vibrant, intelligent, ambitious, strong young woman. And those who knew her personally can speak to her kindness, dedication to faith, friendship, and to her future. She graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul, MN as Valedictorian of her class, and had just completed her sophomore year at Princeton University. Yasmin was unparalleled in her strive for academia, social justice, and bettering the world around her. This loss is both profound and tragic, for her family, her loved ones, and those whose lives she touched.
Her family is shocked by the sudden nature of her passing, and would greatly appreciate help in raising funds for her funeral. Your donation would help cover travel costs, funeral expenses, and a memorial well for Yasmin that will help those in need. Yasmin's intelligence and drive was surpassed only by her passion for serving others, and this memorial would honor that memory.
