Driveway& path repair for baby with brittle bones.

Donation protected
** George most of the time scoots on the ground, so you can imagine what a crumbling drive way would do to his legs and bum. His family is in need of driveway repair and a concrete path so he can get from the house to the detached drive way. Estimates are anywhere from $10,000 to $18,000. If you know of someone who would donate services or help with the supplies for the project please let us know. We hope to have this last project finished and watch George be independent and safe getting around! THANK YOU!

Baby George has fragile bones but iron strong love for life and he needs your help.

Baby George was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bone disease) type lll 10days after birth. He is almost 2 now. Osteogenesis imperfecta is a genetic disorder characterized by increased bone fragility, low bone mass and susceptibility to bone fractures. This sweet little boy has had many broken bones, including spinal fractures. George’s condition is VERY rare. It is actually a collagen gene mutation so as he grows it may manifest in many ways. Collagen is in every cell of our bodies. In Georges OI type 3, traits are extremely fragile bone, stunted growth, hearing loss, continually deforming bone, and more. George also has DI or Dentagenesis, making his teeth fragile like his bone. He will be needing his teeth capped to help prevent more tooth breakage and abscesses.

George has had major surgeries including a port placement so he may be accessed with out holding him down and adding to the risk of breaking bones, he had femur rods placed so his femurs would hopefully fracture less. He will have many other surgeries and rod placements and replacements as he grows.

Caring for George has many physical challenges for their entire family. Literally normal daily handling George is by far one of the most challenging. He can break a bone by simply doing normal daily activity, break spontaneously or by just a simple bump.

George’s mom is a small business owner of a hair salon. When George’s condition was realized hard and fast decision about her business needed to be addressed. Reduced days and hours at her small business has helped George but unfortunately doesn’t help the family provide many large expense items needed to help George in his daily life. The family aspires to raise George as normal as possible and to find a balance in allowing him to experience life. George’s father works full time for the school district. They also have a three year old son who is learning to be gentle with his little brother.

The financial stress is incredible with many of his medical needs not being covered by insurance. Each break the supplies have to be paid out of pocket because they are considered, “preventative” to be purchased in advance. His physical medical, vehicle, and home equipment are also very expensive and most not covered by insurance.

Throughout all his pain and struggles, he is ALWAYS smiling.

Please share his story in hopes that we can help this family! I am hoping I am able to fundraise the money they would need for sweet baby GEORGE.
