My beautiful sister Brenda Gallegos-Montoya was only 49 years old when her heart stopped suddenly in her sleep. She was revived but suffered a considerable brain injury. She was taken off life support January 12, 2020 .
Brenda was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, auntie and friend. She was known as Ms. Brenda to the children she worked with at St. Mary’s. Brenda worked as a teachers aide after retiring from the State of NM Magistrate Court Division after 25 years of service.
She leaves behind her husband of 16 years Deacon Michael Montoya and her beloved daughter Abigail who just celebrated her 10th birthday on January 1st.
This loss is so unexpected. This is the second loss for our family in the last 6 months. Her mother Gertrude Gallegos died on Jun 17, 2019 after heart surgery complications. Any financial help for her husband and daughter is greatly appreciated.
