For Southern and Kaylee Seale

Donation protected
Hi everyone, our buddy and good friend Southern Seale recently went through several major surgeries following a series of strokes due to a complication from a previous heart procedure this past week. Southern and his wife, Kaylee, will be on a road to recovery for an undetermined amount of time and need all the love and support we can all offer.  Any donation would be extremely appreciated! ❤️

Update from Kaylee:

"Just want to give a quick rundown of the past events this week now that things have started to calm down here, and I thought it would be a good time to update everyone on all the events that have unfolded over the last week with Southern Paul Seale. One week ago Southern started having stroke-like symptoms while he was visiting some friends and family near Victoria. He was admitted to Detar Hospital where he suffered from four small strokes, became septic and was airlifted to St. David’s South in Austin. He was diagnosed with an atrial-esophageal fistula and he underwent emergency open heart surgery. An atrial-esophageal fistula is a very rare complication from the cardiac ablation procedure he had last month. He had a hole in his heart and esophagus and they have patched a hole over his atrium and placed a stint in his esophagus. He was intubated for four days and is off the ventilator. He will be on a feeding tube for at least the next month. He suffered from left side paralysis from the stroke but is slowly regaining strength in his left leg and arm and we are praying he regains his strength in his hand through occupational therapy. He is currently in ICU, hoping to be moved to a room in the next few days and then he will be transferred to an inpatient acute care rehab for therapy. It’s a miracle he is alive and we are SO grateful for all of the prayers, messages and well wishes from everyone. Southern Had a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery and knew this going in, he survived the surgery, then was given a 50/50 chance of surviving the second surgery the next day, God has been good and today is a great day!"

The great news is Southern has continued to heal and made amazing strides over the last several days! The Seale family is so thankful for everyone's love, support, and prayers over the last week. They are settling into the realities of the next few months which will include a stay at a rehab facility and then in-home rehab to recover from the effects of the strokes. They are feeling optimistic and grateful to their family and friends. All contributions will go directly to living expenses as they take time from work to heal and any additional will help tremendously with medical bills. Please share - thank you and sending love to all!
