For Scott to Walk Fundraiser
Donation protected
Scott Mesenegeeshik, now 28 years old, is an Animbiigoo Zaagi'igan Anishinaabek (Lake Nipigon Ojibway) member who was violently assaulted and left for dead in a burning building. He was found before surccumbing to his injuries as a result of the beating he sustained significant physical impairments, a traumatic brain injury as well as severe second and third degree burns throughout his body. These burns required grafting. He was found to have stab wounds on his forehead and cheeks, an intracranial bleed as well as a hypoxic brain injury. He has undergone years of interventions (surgeries, grafting, tracheostomy, g-tube placement, as well as other rehabilitation programs) at various inpatient facilities in Hamilton, and Thunder Bay, Ontario.
He wants to walk again and the physiotherapy he needs to do so in Thunder Bay is not covered. We did a benefit in our small community and managed to raise half the money required we are hoping through this page we can raise the other half for Scott to walk again. Scott's primary goal is to walk unassisted again. Hopefully with the help and generosity of kindness this dream will be a reality for Scott who is a man of little means but has hope and determination. As soon as our goal is reached Scott will be able to commence the rehabilitation required for him to walk again.
