For Richard Martin

Today, I found out that my high-school English teacher, Mr. Martin, was diagnosed with Cancer. Holding back tears writing this, I want this fundraiser to celebrate the amazing teacher he was at The Gunnery. He believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. He showed me the English language's power to move the souls of human beings beyond mere pages of a paperback book. For those of us who knew him during our time at Gunnery, we remember that he had a bark, much bigger than a bite, and once in a while if he smiled at you, it would make your day. This is for you, Richard.
