For Love of Annie

This is Annie,  beautiful 13.5 year old senior with an extraordinary will to live. Annie got lost Nov 9th while camping with her family at Little Sahara Recreation Area, a park in Juab  County , Utah.  Her family returned daily , desperately searching .  Annie, apparently set out in search of her family.  For 9 days and nights,  Annie survived extreme conditions including freezing temperatures, alone and frightened. We can only imagine what she went through.  
On Sunday, Nov. 18,  approximately 9 miles from where Annie went missing, six buddies were out riding motorcycles when one of them spotted something laying in a crevice of the rocky terrain. There was Annie, unresponsive, but alive.  The rider fastened a makeshift sling to free her.  Because of her location, it took the coordinated efforts and beautiful hearts of six men who refused to leave her behind. They carried her on foot, then by motorcycle, and then by four wheel drive to get her to the vet.  
Her family is incredibly relieved and grateful to her rescuers. Still, Annie is in bad shape.  Though uninjured , the exposure to the elements, lack of food and water caused her body to begin shutting down. Her care will be costly and there is no guarantee, but Annie has already shown she can beat the odds.  It is a miracle she survived one night let alone 9.  Annie isn’t giving up so neither is her family.  Neither are her rescuers, and neither are we.  She is being transferred to  certified Level 1 Trauma Facility,  AVC in Salt Lake City where she will receive the intensive, special care we need.
