Food for Dunkirk

Donation protected
The camp in Grande-Synthe, Dunkirk, is home to over 3000 residents living in increasingly awful conditions as winter continues with freezing temperatures, rain and snow. Residents are living with a lack of infrastructure and daily life in the camp is worsening - tents are destroyed, mud is everywhere.

On top of this, food is scarce. With a general decline in media coverage on the refugee crisis, donations have fallen substantially. Residents are struggling to meet their basic needs and the constant food shortage is severe.

Three Clapton Ultras are going to Dunkirk in a week to distribute food and essential items and we need your help to raise funds to make this happen

We are working with local volunteer, Hafsa Benbourek, on the ground to identify specific needs for residents in the camp and will go on shopping runs as needed. We'll buy items such as camping gas, cooking oil, tomatoes, beans, sugar, rice and fresh fruit and vegetables to make and distribute food parcels.

When we went to the camp before we were struck by the necessity of voluntary help - residents are ignored by local and national authorities. We must keep up the support and solidarity for those living in the camps.

Even just a fiver can go a really long way to helping  a family prepare a few hot meals.

Please share this page widely if you can.

Thank you!
