Miracle's do happen. My sister Pia was granted a 28 day FULL scholarship at a wonderful facility in Florida for substance abuse / mental health. She is stable, and doing well, and beyond that, willing to continue with further treatment! She will be going directly to another facility in NH for structured women's sober living, where she will dive into the 12-steps and work through them with a sponser.
As some of you may know addiction runs strong in my family, and my sister has been batteling her own deamons for some time now. Addiction is insideious, and dark, and once we are down and out it's hard to climb out. I am thankful for my ties in the recovery community- if it wasn't for a network of amazing individuals who have "been there" and had big hearts, she wouldn't have been blessed to be heading where she is now.
I am so blessed that two amazing facilities were willing to give her a chance- something she is worthy of despite her mistakes.
My husband and I were able to take care of all airfare throughout Pia's journay. When she arrives at the second facility food expenses and one clinical assessment a month will need coverage. This is will tight for us, because we are expecting out first child in July.
The road to recovery is full of ebbs and flows but the willingness Ive heard her express, and the progress she has made gives me hope for the future.
Any help to reach out goal would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
