Supplies for Families - LA Flooding

Hi friends,
My home state of Louisiana is in trouble. One family in particular has reached out for help over Facebook. By raising even a small amount of money here, we can help make a big dent in their call for supplies. Even $5-$10 donations can take a chunk out of a grocery/hardware store bill, so no amount is too small - and it GOES DIRECTLY to people who need help RIGHT NOW.

"...(we are) traveling to Denham Springs Thursday afternoon. We are in need of help! Our family in Denham Springs has lost everything. 5 homes in our immediate family are flooded. One family out of six is still dry. They are feeding & housing somewhere around 28 people per day. They have everything from small children to elderly. Supplies are dwindling fast. My brother, Randy, and son Lane and a few friends are leaving probably early Thursday morning as well to help with demolition & whatever needs to be done. They need food to feed a large crowd and supplies for demolition. They said they were in need of water, Gatorade, soft drinks, bleach, paper towels, toilet tissue, cleaning supplies or any food items."
During Katrina, at the dawn of social media (pre-Facebook!), we had an initiative like this that we used blogger for - and we were overwhelmed by everyone's generosity. Those funds went DIRECTLY to families that had lost everything; and to supplies for a local church that served as a temporary shelter for people fleeing north. (Like, they literally pushed back the pews and put down mattresses.) Let's show this family the same amount of generosity and good will!
