My good friend Chop Flint has spent his entire life giving back. When my grandfather passed away in July 2016, he graciously offered to help me memorialize him with a beautiful tattoo. He didn't charge me a dime. That's the kind of person he is.
Now it's my turn to help give back to him...
On the evening of August 23, 2016, Chop was in a horrible accident.
He and his partner Kate Osterhout were at a complete stop on their motorcycle waiting to turn left. Without warning, they were rear-ended. Their bike was totaled and their lives left in complete disarray.
Thankfully, both Chop and Kate survived. But the wreck left Chop with two broken wrists and a large laceration on his knee. Kate suffered several bruises and patches of road rash all over her body.
Chop and Kate are two of the hardest-working people I know. He is a master technician for Harley Davidson and a tattoo artist. She works at The Little Gym, helping small children learn new things and build self-confidence.
But even before this wreck, Chop and Kate were living paycheck to paycheck.
Now, with medical bills piling up and two boys to support, the couple can no longer make ends meet. Their car has been repossessed and they are days away from eviction.
Chop underwent surgery on August 30 and now has two metal plates in his wrists. He will be out of work on recovery for months, with no income to support his family. Even with physical therapy, he may never be able to work again.
Because of her injuries, Kate cannot properly care for children and is also unable to work.
Chop and Kate's situation is dire.
With nowhere else to turn, I'm asking friends, neighbors, and even strangers to help Chop, Kate, and their family make it through this horrible time. Whether it's $5, $10 or $100, every little bit will help.
