Jackson Family Fire

Dear Friends,
I cannot remember when I first met Davina and Davita Jackson, likely when I was a wee tot back in the days in Crozet. We have known each other for a long time, and I feel pretty certain that is the case for many. Through the years though they have graced us with their beautiful spirits, mad talent, and angelic music . They are friends, which means so is the rest of their family members, and I hope we can collectively help them in this sad time and maybe lessen their burdens a little as they go through this difficult loss.
Last Thursday 11.22.2018, Thanksgiving, beloved members of our community, The Jackson Family, had a devastating house fire. First and foremost, nobody was injured, thank goodness. Sadly, however, the house is a total loss, and will have to be demolished. This kind of loss is always tragic, and emotionally difficult, but especially during the holidays.
This was their home, full of memories. Davina Jackson wrote: "My parents moved to Morgantown Road in Ivy Virginia in 1968. My siblings, The Jackson Five, (not the famous ones, lol) all were raised in the two story green house since our births. Cindy 50, Elliott Jr 49, my twin sister Davita 44, and David 40. This has always been the place the Jackson's called home. Through the years we gradually left the home and started families elsewhere. My family members left and returned to the house over time. My son Atreyu 21 has been there since birth and right up until the fire. Cindy had been staying in the home briefly, then after my mom died in 2014 she came back to care for my dad when he got sick in 2017. She's been living there ever since. My aunt, my dad's sister was displaced from where she was living due to a fire in 2015, at that time my dad moved her into the home. She's been staying with us ever since."
The family members, Elliott, Cindy, Atreyu, and Davina need assistance with clothing, toiletries, etc. as they lost a lot of personal items in the fire. The hope is to rebuild their beloved family home, and this is an expense nobody could have foreseen coming. In the meantime, they will need to find housing, get back on their feet, and in order to do this extra support from this community would be very helpful and appreciated!
