Over the years Closing the Gaps has…
* Assisted families with children in grades K-8 — provided support to address their academic needs.

* Guided families of students with severe-profound disabilities to access services throughout the transitions of Elementary and Middle School.

* Provided  intervention and accelerated learning in the life of a student with autism who graduated the FIU Panther Life Program and is living an independent and functional life.

* Provided students with learning strategies and fostered confidence during their 12 years of schooling — these students have since become successful professionals in their communities.
Closing the Gaps opened its doors in 2002 with the goal of implementing innovative instructional techniques to maximize each student’s potential. Over the past 15 years Closing the Gaps has awarded scholarships to many students, supported families, and empowered students to lead successful, enriching lives.

Our goal with Fit Brains 4 Miami is to provide guidance to students and parents in all aspects of their lives. We are a team of committed professionals who care about children and their futures. We understand that sometimes learning can be an challenging experience.  We want to create a community hub where students and parents can come to learn, have fun and gain the confidence they need to break down barriers.

Fit Brains 4 Miami provides a space of encouragement and motivation in which students will be able to receive additional support for their academic needs by increasing their mental and physical performance, all in one convenient place. In addition, parents have  a secure place to seek advocacy for their children and families. Fit Brains 4 Miami  wants to offer 25 scholarships in 2018 to help foster a child’s unique individual abilities and help them achieve academic success. With your help, Fit Brains 4 Miami will be changing lives one brain at a time.
