My name is Carolina Quintero Suzzarini A.K.A Carolina Padron. I was born and raised in Venezuela  but I have  lived  in Canada for the past 25 years. My friends and I are reaching out to you because we have a growing concern about the current social and political situation and we  have collected the following facts to make sure people understand what's brewing in our country.
Facts about current social and political situation of Venezuela:
1. There is more in-hospital deaths of neonatal babies than in other countries affected by war due to lack of medical supplies and medication
2. There is an 80% shortage of food and medicine, and the government refuses to open international humanitarian channel. (Only individual can respond and try to help)
3. Regional Elections have been indefinitely suspended and government refuses to call new elections And President has canceled  all duties and salaries of all members of Parliament
4. Monstly students are opposing and fighting on the streets without any guns and they are being repressed with tear gas, munitions and all the might of the National Guard the same that should be protecting them.
5. Student  defending democracy are being killed, accused, arrested, torture and gone missing just for claiming democracy for Venezuela and putting at risk their own lives to restablish safety and equal rights for pro government and opposition citizens
6. There is growing amount of people scavenging garbage bag on the street for food to eat
7 There is an alarming increase of kids under 12 born and raised on the streets getting pregnant  and also getting involved in gruesome crimes
8. There are over 100 unjustly detained political prisoners

We have worked hard collecting first-aid supplies for the students and citizen that are being cruelly wounded just by protesting on the street. So far we have been able to gather around 1,575lb. Of medical supplies and now we need to ship them as soon as possible. However, shipping to Venezuela is very expensive, fright cost are between $6-7 per pound
Our medical supplies will be sent to First-Aids groups at Universidad Central de Venezuela, First Aids Cascos Verdes in Barquisimeto, Lara as well as First Aids at Universidad del Zulia.
With much effort, we have raised some monies, but we still don't have the necessary fund to ship all supplies we have collected, and this is the reason for this GoFundMe campaign. Your cash contribution will be used to cover the shipping costs of sending these much needed first -aid provisions to the students fight for democracy in Venezuela.
On behalf of all Venezuelan people we profoundly thank you.!
