In support of the fight against ALS, on February 2nd I will be participating in the Valentine Polar Plunge at Main Beach in Manasquan!!
This past year, our family found out that our brother was diagnosed with ALS, commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. This devastating disease not only has a large financial impact for treatment, but also for maintaining a quality of life that I know I’ve taken for granted.
As some of you may already know, both of us have been volunteer firefighters for 50+ years combined, together on both Waldwick Fire and Bound Brook Fire. His brothers on Midway Fire Company, in Doylestown PA, have started the “Firefighters Fighting ALS” foundation, not only to support him, but any firefighter needing support during their battle with this dreadful disease. The foundation is a 501C(3) organization and is there for all our fellow firefighters.
Please donate to this cause so that we can support all of our firefighting brothers in need. It was my brother’s request to not make this all about him. The major portion of the proceeds will be going to “FFALS,” with a portion also going to “The Valentine Plunge” (host of the event) for treatment, research and hopefully a cure. As we know, every dollar can make a difference.
