Fired To Inspired: Help Me and Help Others

Donation protected

This is the GoFundMe Page for Fired to Inspired, ran by Megan Williams.

A brief synopsis of what is going on for those that didn't read the article. I have been suffering with crippling anxiety and depression for the past 4 years. It continues to get worse, despite multiple different treatments.

I started a part-time job in August 2018 after being let go from a previous job due to side effects from depression and anxiety. (I've been let go from 4 different jobs in total due to the same thing.)

Things were great at first at my new job. However, when I suffered a panic attack at work, I was fired and told that my coworkers didn't like me and were scared of me and the customers thought the same thing.

That was a month ago and I'm barely holding it together. If I'm being honest, I'm not holding it together well at all.

The kicker of all this is that in January after suffering multiple mental health issues I applied for disability. People have been telling me I should apply for years, and I always just thought, No, there are people out there worse off than me. Now I'm one of those people.

Unfortunately a disability decision takes months, and is more than likely going to be denied and I'll have to appeal. I think it's something like 30% of disability applications are approved the first time around.

This is insane to me. On top of that, while they make their decision on if you're sick enough to be sick, you more than likely don't have an income to support yourself.

I  did for a while, which was barely keeping me afloat. When that was unjustly taken away, I started sinking quick.

So, I need help, if you need detailed information on why, read the article at the link above, it's long, and informative

So, my plan is to take anything donated and use that money to live, aka pay my basic bills. Once my disability gets approved (positive thinking)  and I get backpay, I want to "reimburse" the money I used from the GoFundMe account to pay my bills, into a "Fired To Inspired" account.

With that money, I'll look for people in similar situations, just waiting for disability to come through and about to drown, and help them in the same way I was helped.

Ideally, they would do the same thing with the funds creating a pay it forward effect. The details aren't completely clear, but I'm working on them and the "Fired to Inspired Campaign" section on www.firedtoinspired.com will be updated accordingly one everything is figured out.

I put the campaign goal at $5,000 not because I personally need that much money right now, but because I want to be able to also help other people struggling with mental illness.

Ideally this campaign will continue to receive donations, long after the time that  I need help. Those donations would then got towards helping those with mental health issues, going through a similar situation that I am going through, get the help they need, but aren't able to find elsewhere.

So, that's pretty much everything. If you can help that would be amazing. If you can't afford to, I totally get it, but if you could at least share the campaign and story that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Anyone who donates $25.00 or more will receive a "Fired To Inspired" wristband once they are designed and ordered. If interested in receiving one, please private message your email address after making the donation. Once they are made an email will go out requesting addresses and the sort. They will also eventually be for sale at www.firedtoinspired.com
