Fired for taking care of sick child

Donation protected
Terri and Tavon are the proud parents of six beautiful children. The youngest, Jordan, was born with CMV virus. Due to her illness, she is constantly in and out of the hospital.

More information on CMV

In her short lifetime, she has endured daily seizures (epilepsy), brain damage, and cerebral palsey. At just a few months of age, she lost her hearing due to the virus. In January, Jordan was hospitalized for observation to get her seizures under control and to find an optimal way for her to gain weight. At 2 years old, she was just 15 lbs. The good news is that with treatment, Jordan is now 27lbs. In March, Jordan had surgery to get a permanant feeding tube put into her abdomen.

Ufortunately, the feeding tube is defective and useless. With all of this going on, Jordan has been home for only a few days, since December. Because Jordan has been in the hospital full time, her mother, father, and grandmother have been taking turns staying with Jordan and taking care of the other 5 siblings. Terri was granted medical leave from her job, who told her to take as much time as she needed, but was soon told that she was fired due to the company "downsizing." Terri applied for umemployment, but was denied. She later found out that the company that she worked for stated in their paperwork that she was let go because she was not coming into work.

At this time both of Jordan's parents are out of work. Up until now, they were using their savings and odd jobs to cover the cost of living. Jordan's father, Tavon, is currently seeking a job that will allow him to share the burden of being in the hospital with Jordan, and to take turns being there for their other children.

The bills are mounting and so is the stress of keeping everyone vibrant and thriving.
The doctors really do not know what to do for Jordan, so at this point it is a waiting game. She has been in the hosptial on oxygen, because she can not breathe on her own. Her feeding tube has a hideous odor, and can not be used at this time. They are feeding her through a temporary tube that they inserted through her nose. Jordan is due to have surgery to replace the faulty tube in the upcoming months. Before they can do the sugery, doctors say that Jordan's body has to get strong enough to endure the stress of another surgery. Beyond that, Jordan also has to get surgery on her throat due to her breathing problems.

In order for the family to cover the monthy cost of living (rent, food, gas, car note, utilities, hospital parking, car insurance, etc), they are asking for a modest blessing of $8,000 to keep them going until they are able to get a steady income.

No gift is too small, and all are appreciated.

Thank you for your generous donation! May God bless you and keep you!!!
