Fire Recovery for Dale Roberson

Donation protected
Just after midnight on November 15, Dale (81)  and Joyce Roberson’s (74) home in Driftwood, Texas caught fire.  Unfortunately, Joyce was unable to make it out in time and lost her life in the fire. Dale was able to escape with minor injuries, but the home is a total loss.

Dale and Joyce had no home insurance, and it will be an uphill battle to recover what has been lost.

The family of Dale and Joyce seek to honor Dale’s wishes to return to his land and animals as soon as possible and are seeking support from family and friends to purchase a single wide trailer, replace lost items including hearing aids and other critical items and clean up debris.

The Robersons have lived in the Driftwood area for years and are co-founders of the News-Dispatch newspaper, which they started in 1982. They  owned and operated the News-Dispatch until retiring in 2013.

We are so grateful to the members of the community who have already reached out to help.

If you wish to contribute but would prefer not to use go fund me, please contact (Anna) Kathy Carl (Dale’s eldest daughter) at [phone redacted]. Note: This gofundme is set up by Dale’s granddaughter Bethany and the funds are being “housed” for now by Anna (Kathy) Carl, Dale’s daughter. All funds will be used for Dale’s care.
