MISSING MOUSEKETEER
Our beloved friend, DENNIS DAY, former Disney Mouseketeer and current resident of Phoenix, OR, has been missing from his home since mid-July 2018, despite the best efforts of the Phoenix Missing Persons Dept. to locate him.
Day, an original Mouseketeer from 1956 – '57, was a veteran actor and longtime member of the original California Renaissance Pleasure Faires and Dickens Christmas Fair. He disappeared from his home on July 15th, after his husband, Ernest Caswell, was hospitalized in Medford. Telling Ernie that he was going to visit friends, he uncharacteristically left his dog in the care of a temporary housemate, and has not been seen since.
Sometime after Dennis' departure, the family car also disappeared and was found July 26th on the Oregon coast, being driven by persons unknown to Day's friends. The driver told police that Day had given them permission to use it. No forensic evidence was found in the vehicle to suggest any struggle or foul play had occurred.
This fundraiser has priortized goals: first, we want to raise $1,000 in order to finance a $500 reward & cover various printing & posting costs for both press releases & for posters offering that reward, so that those who might know something may have their tongues loosened. Should we be able to raise significantly more, we will hire a private detective to investigate where the police cannot – we feel sure that someone up there knows something they aren't telling, and a PI will be the best chance of tracing him.
We know that there are many places for you to put your money, between the holidays and needs of fire victims, etc. But we hope you will be able to give a little; $5.00, $10.00; anything helps. Dennis has so many people who love him; if most can give just a little, we can at least get the reward money & therefore the posters up.
We will give updates of each goal met; any extra monies raised that don't go into the goals above will go to Ernie's care; without Dennis, he will be in residential care for the foreseeable future.
