Fund a Cure for Huntington's

My family has been affected by Huntington's Disease (HD) for quite some time now. Yvette, my mother, is a mother to 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl). She was diagnosed with HD when she was only 21.  Now if you are not aware of what this disease is The Huntington's Society of Canada describes it as "an inherited brain disorder. Each child of a parent with HD has a 50% chance of inheriting the disease. HD causes cells in parts of the brain to die. As the brain cells die, a person with HD becomes less able to control movements, recall events, make decisions and control emotions. The disease leads to incapacitation and, eventually, death.". To be more specific, I often describe HD as being like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and ALS all in one.

Our mother was an independent, vibrant, talkative, outgoing woman and then she started to experience symptoms in her late 30s and is now 46 and is in a wheelchair, eating purree foods/drinks, wearing briefs and is almost completely non-verbal. She has lost all of her independence but she has never lost that wonderful, contagious personality. 

Recently, the HSC has been very close to finding a cure for this horrible disease, often referred to as the "devil's disease" but the number 1 thing we all struggle with is; funding. This cure is estimated to cost thousands of dollars. Your donation, of any kind, will help not only young adults rid of this fatal disease but it will also help young teens who are also at risk of inheriting this disease. 

HD affects not only the person who has it but all of their loved ones around them.
