Financial Help For A Difficult Time

Donation protected
A month or so ago my mom was diagnosed with Vikings Disease which causes bones and joints to curl up to the point where they can't be used anymore. There is no known cure for it. My mom got it from an injury at her job where she shattered her shoulder bones and all of the bones in her wrist. This caused her body to sustain a lot of trauma that triggered the recessive genetic disorder.

Since this has happened I have seen my mom in pain every day and basically watched her health deteriorate in front of me. On top of this she is having problem with her teeth but neither one of us can afford dental care or anything at the moment. So it's just been hard to see my mom basically falling apart in front of me and there is nothing I can do to fix the problem besides just try to help her rub her hands, take her to physical therapy when I get away from working, and just pray she will get better.

Because of my depression, social anxiety, ptsd, agoraphobia, and other physical/ emotional disorders I work out of the house but only bring in half of the rent. This is do to the trauma from my very abusive childhood, abuse at school, and extensive abuse in the workplace. My mom is going to doctors appointments and hasn't been able to find any work due to her condition. So we are in a very financially hard place right now.

My mom was denied payments from workmen's comp after getting diagnosed with Vikings Disease and we have no way of covering the extra portion of the rent each month. She was able to get an attorney for her workman's comp case, but her attorney won't be able to reinstate her monthly payments for another three months.

We are still trying to find a disability attorney to get her monthly disability payments in addition to workman's compensation. But her current attorney told her that she probably won't see any money from disability for one to two years, the way the current legal system works in my state.

We only have three more weeks to find the rest of the money or we will be kicked out of our place.

We faced a similar issue last month but somehow we managed to pull through thanks to the kindness of one of my mom's close friends.

However, we still have next month, the month of December, and possibly January to worry about. We are about $1000.00 short of what we need each month. So you can see how this is a big issue and something I'm trying not to bother me too much. But it does take its toll on my daily worrying whether or not we will make it through.

We've tried getting help from as many agencies as possible to get financial assistance but it's been hard. A lot of agencies have very specific requirements, like you have to have a child under the age of eighteen, you have to be a certain gender, a certain race, or certain religion to receive any financial help.

This whole experience has made me wonder why they have to divide the community services up in the way they do, when I believe that help should be accessible to everyone, despite their demographic. But unfortunately the way the system is, you have to meet very specific requirements to receive any kind of help.

We went to a pawn shop recently as well as a local used book store and sold what few possessions we had left in hopes that it would at least give us enough money to drive to a local shelter and cover other various expenses that come with moving (forced or not). We were only able to make fifty dollars from that venture at the end of the day, but we tried our best.

We are continuing trying to find as many resources as possible, but with only thee weeks left, it is looking like we will be homeless at the end of this month. And that doesn't even begin to cover the problems we will potentially face in November, December or January.

My mom and I have been facing various issues for seven years now. We've been chased down by a family member who intends us harm. On top of that, we've always had something come up which hasn't allowed for us to save up.

When we first moved to the valley to escape my step dad, my mom and I lived with a publisher. My mom did the marketing and I did her website. But one day the publisher decided she didn't want to pay us and threw us on the street, so that was the first time we were homeless.

Shortly after we lived with a roommate who kept asking for more and more money (ripping us off) until my mom And I couldn't afford it and had to move.

The third place we lived in got flooded out and we literally had to leave with very limited resources within a week.

The place we lived now was infested with bed bugs shortly after which caused us to get rid of all of our furniture and most of our clothes. We still don't have any beds to sleep on because we can't afford it.

Now we are in a worst situation. We've been going through a hard time since my mom got her work Injury back in April. And it's only a miracle that we haven't been homeless for five months.

My mom was receiving a disability payments for her work injury but they cut her off when they learned about her Vikings Disease.

So now we are in a situation where we literally have no way of paying for the rest of the rent. And that brings us to where we are now.

I don't want anyone to be worried about our situation but I just want everyone to keep my mom and I in your prayers. We need lots of prayer and positive energy right now. Both would be very much appreciated.

Just continue to keep my mom and I in your prayers and send positive energy our way. Both are very much appreciated. And if you could find it in your heart to help us reach our goal to help us cover the expenses for the next three months, or know of anyone who would be willing to help with our expenses, we would appreciate it very much.

If you are more comfortable donating through PayPal, we both have e-mails you can send donations through as well. Send a message or leave a comment to learn details on how you can donate through PayPal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our story and make a contribution. God bless.
