Operation Christmas Lights raises money every year to purchase Christmas presents for the children of soldiers who have lost their lives while serving America. This year we ask that you please consider making a donation to support the family of Chief Petty Officer Jason C. "JJ" Finan.
Chief Petty Officer Jason Finan was a Navy explosives ordinance disposal technician who was the first American killed in the battle to retake Mosul from the Islamic State group. Finan was attached to a Navy SEALs team and was advising the forces as they advanced on Mosul. As Islamic State group fighters moved toward their position he was directing the team’s vehicles away from a roadside bomb he’d spotted when his vehicle ran over another bomb. A 13-year sailor, Finan was a master explosive ordnance disposal technician who had previously deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and had also served aboard the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan early in his career.
