Film School Tuition for Young Woman

My name is Abigail Karl and I am a 17-year-old filmmaker.
I'm currently a senior at Communications High School in Wall, NJ, and I'm looking to study filmmaking in college next year. However, I will be paying for tuition on my own and I'm having a lot of difficulty finding the financial means to pursue my passion.
I've been making films ever since I was 9 years old, and throughout the years I've become a very accomplished filmmaker. I've been accepted into and won awards at 38 film festivals for 10 different films, and I have also already began building experience and working in the industry. Last summer when I was 16 years old, I was the youngest person working on the set of a professional feature film, Low Tide. However, I had no trouble proving my dedication and abilities to the crew and becoming an important member of the production.
You'll see in the video, but literally every time I talk about how much I love filmmaking I can't help but get emotional. There was a point in high school where filmmaking surpassed being just a hobby and became a part of who I am. I was going through a tough time freshman and sophomore year, adjusting to high school was proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be. My film teacher noticed this and told me something I will never forget. He said, “Art is the best therapy.” I took his words to heart and poured myself emotionally into all of my work. It’s taught me how to handle and express my emotions healthily, while creating something beautiful at the same time. I want to continue to create beautiful things, to tell a story, to connect with people, and make them feel something. I want to pursue a higher education in film because I know that this is exactly what I’m supposed to do with my life. There is nothing I’m more passionate about.
It would be incredible to gain some financial support through Go Fund Me so I can achieve my dream of pursuing a career in film.
