On January 20th, our sister Nicki made a visit to the ER to be diagnosed with a strand of the flu. As normal procedure of the ER, a CT scan was completed. From the CT scan they saw a spot on her liver that was concerning. Little did Nicki know that the flu & a trip to the ER, would dramatically change her life in every way possible.
In the past two weeks, Nicki and her husband Frank have been in and out of labs, procedures, CT & PET scans, all to find out that at the age of 43, Nicki has been diagnosed with Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Esophagus Cancer. Which has spread to her liver and surrounding lymph nodes.
On top of every day life expenses for a family with three children (Torie 22, Damian 14, & Julian 12), every appointment comes with a cost. With every procedure comes a cost. With every trip, meal, treatment, a cost that they didn't prepare for. A cost that they couldn't prepare for.
For those of you who know our sister Nicki, she is always the one helping and holding everyone together. Nicki is very involved in Media Youth Wrestling, any sports the boys are active in, & volunteering frequently at SLMS. Nicki has also been caring for our Aunt with Dementia everyday for the last two years. Nicki is always “doing” for everyone around her. We have asked God to allow Nicki to let people “do” for her. To ask people to help.
Yes. We are asking for help. Whether it's prayer, helping with the financial burden, or just sharing Nicki’s story. We are thankful for ANY and all of your support. Every dollar and share of the Go Fund Me will be significant for Nicki’s medical expenses and her family.
