Fight for the Innocent Event

My name is Jamie Schwimley. I am an animal rights activist fighting against the dog and cat meat trade is asia; specifically the yulin dog meat festival in china. This “festival” starts on June 21st of EVERY year during summer solstice & it goes on for 10 long horrifying days, with an estimated 10,000 dogs will be slaughtered and eaten. Throughout those days these animals will be hung, burned, skinned, boiled, torched, dismembered, electrocuted anally & orally, and visciously beaten. The whole time they will still be ALIVE, so they intentionally feel EVERY SECOND of agony & fear. They are injected with drugs to prevent them from passing out, dismembered so they can’t run, & snouts bound shut with wire so tightly that they can’t cry out in pain or bite. If that isn't enough, this is done in front of the other animals to create MORE stress & fear, because the people of china believe the more adrenaline & fear that runs through the blood, the more tender & better tasting the meat will be! They believe eating dog meat it gives the men more sexual stamina, keep them cool during the summer's heat & ward off evil spirits. This “festival” is not the only time this brutality occurs. It happens all year with the dog and cat meat trade. Millions of dogs and cats are brutally tortured and slaughtered every year in china, as well as many other parts of asia. These are inhumane acts to an animal that provides so many benefits to the human race. These dogs NEVER ASKED to be born & certainly DO NOT deserve this fate. Humans are supposed to look after man's best friend, as they do us. They are police officers, service dogs, a child's childhood memory & best friend. They are NOT FOOD.  

Please help us put an end to this inhumane torture of these innocent animals, while china’s government looks the other way. Animal activists around the world are working hard & doing what they can to not only ban the festival but to ban the dog & cat meat trade as well. My good friend and fellow advocate, Alexis Esquibel, and I have put together a public awareness event that is set for March 11th, so that more people in this world is aware about this horrific event that goes on every year in china. The more awareness, the more people there are to help stop this. The more awareness, then more pressure is put on china to stop these inhumane acts. An animal rights activist; Marc Ching will be speaking at this event about his experiences he himself went through while going undercover in yulin china to document these horrifying acts, as proof to help stop it. He rescues hundreds of dogs from their horrible fate each time he goes there. He then brings them back to his foundation, The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation, where they can then be adopted by a loving family. I am raising money to fund this event. We will need sound equipment, banners, beverages, etc. I also hope to print T-shirts and awareness flyers to hand out. The event is already planned and now we just need to organize immediately. These dogs and cats are beautiful and innocent creatures. This isn’t about telling a country what to eat. It is about ending THE TORTURE and suffering that these babies endure every single day. These babies deserve so much more than what they recieve. They and I would be extremely. beyond words, grateful for your help in fighting this. Thankyou for taking your time in reading their story.
