Fight with Joey Against Lymphoma

Some of you may know, my boyfriend is about to begin his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After discovering a lump in his neck in February and doing several tests and biopsies, we received shocking news of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer in late April. In the weeks before his diagnosis, we have gone from football talk and starting our new company, to discussing which test we need to schedule and when treatment is going to start. This is going to be tough for him because not much keeps him down, but anyone that knows Joey, knows he is a FIGHTER and a WARRIOR and he will not let cancer keep him down.

Joey is a graduate of David Brearley High School and will be graduating from Montclair State University with his Masters in Nutrition in May. He plays semi pro football, flag football and basketball, works two jobs and is a great guy and would do anything for anyone.

So as the diagnosis has set in, now comes the hard work of fighting his battle. Joey met with his wonderful oncologist this week and will begin chemo therapy late May, early June. We are thankful to God that his cancer was detected in the early stages and has been given a very positive prognosis, very treatable and curable. This emotional struggle for him will be tough since he is always the tough one but like I said he is a fighter. He will be facing many appointments, doctor’s bills and medical expenses.
