I'll start by saying that I put this gofundme page together for Colleen not only for everyone to reach out and support her. I also made it because she's a great person and a great friend. Thank you Colleen for always standing by me, I stand with you through this fight.

My Story: By Colleen Cardas
A month ago I was diagnosed with invasive ductile carcinoma (Breast Cancer) in both breasts. I’m sharing my story today in hope of helping another cope with this horrible disease.
50 years ago my grandmother fought and won her battle with breast cancer, 5 years ago my aunt, her and I only found out yesterday that 15 years ago another aunt had it as well. 6 months ago I lost a dear friend to that same battle. 1 year ago my life long best friend lost her fight. Many of my friends have and are fighting right now and I am close to survivors around the world.
There is a lot of good news:
-I do not have the cancer gene which means I do not have to consider preemptive hysterectomy.
-I do not have tumors anywhere else in my body
-It is not in my lymph nodes
-It can be blocked from returning with hormone blocking therapy
I am very very lucky to have received all this good news!!!
As I share my diagnosis with people everyone wants to help, it’s been heartwarming and uplifting, at a time that is filled with fear and tears. I found that people feel helpless and need to do something to deal with the news. As I deal with things that nobody can help with like hair loss and side effects of Chemo. I want to be able to tell people how they can make a difference and what they can DO.
Overall,I was afraid, I didn’t want to know if it was bad. I thought I didn’t have a way to pay for treatment if diagnosed, I was wrong.I thought I would be alone I am not. I want everyone to know that I am available at any time don’t be afraid to come and talk to me if you need help seeking treatment, dealing with a friend going through this battle or just sharing your story.
