Fight Cancer with Shannon

Donation protected
Help Shannon survive cancer . She needs a little help from all of her friends .

The beautiful Wallace family is always willing to help everyone. They are caring to all that enter their lives. They have big hearts ♥️. As school teachers, Shannon and Will have shaped and moulded many childrens lives,  helped them grow in themselves, have confidence and reach their full potential. Working long hours, even off the clock to give their jobs everything they can. In 2001, they had their first child William whom warmed their hearts, they had never felt such joy as holding their gorgeous first born baby boy. Then in 2004, they welcomed a bundle of beautiful energy , Aaliyah. Shannon loved her children dearly, but little did she know that she would surcum to an illness that affects a lot of women in Australia, a mental illness that can go unnoticed in this time of severe fatigue and an array of emotions, she got post-natal depression.

It was a struggle for all of them to reach a happy medium in this troubled time. In the process of balancing medications , dealing with the ups and downs, psychologists visits, Shannon reassessed her future and decided to reach for her dreams and started at the UQ Veterinary Science School. Shannon had always wanted to become a vet and her love and natural affinity for animals was out of this world. As with all average Australian families, Shannon was 38 years old, they knew it would be a huge financial challenge and hard to find the work/ study/ family life balance but with the support of a loving, caring husband she sacrifced 5 years of long study days with a 1.5 hour commute either way. She worked religiously and passed, Passed it all!!. Graduating in December 2016, she started working immediately. We loved having her as a New Graduate, she brought a wonderous joy and love for veterinary science, a natural affinity for surgery and was immediately known as the Cat Lady...miaawww. Just when life was looking up she fell ill with pneumonia and being the caring person she is , she worked through most of it to ensure thorough care for all her furry patients ( caring for all your special furry family members as if they were her own) . 8 months after struggling on-going pneumonias, her CT Scan revealed a small mass in her left lower lung lobe, the decision was made to monitor this and repeat a CT scan in 6 months. She was nervous but really happy being able to help her family financially and finally being able to spoil her children , just a little , like we all like to ! In February 2018, due to unfortunate circumstances, her husband lost his job. Just 2 short weeks after that, Shannon's repeat CT scan revealed that the lump in her left lung lobe had indeed grown and required biopsies. All the results confirmed that she has non - small cell adenocarcinoma stage IIIA and has now completed her first stage of treatment , a lung lobectomy with removal of all the medialstinal lymph nodes. She is relieved it has all commenced, but with her husband struggling to find any work , it has been tough. She just found out she needs to follow on with 4 months of chemotherapy and  6 weeks of radiation therapy . Financial stress is high with 2 beautiful children and just life in general. Studies have proven that cancer patients road to recovery and remission can be greatly improved by improving environmental factors like monetary stress.

PLEASE HELP Shannon in this time of need, help her minimise her families financial stress and offer any little dollar you can. We are with you Shannon all the way!

If you have read all of this , I THANK YOU.
