Paralympic Dream

Hi, my name is Billy Shilton i am 21 years old and i live and train in Sheffield with the British Para Table Tennis team in a bid to qualify for selection for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. My training regime is incredibly demanding, I train for up to 6 hours per day as hard as possible to be the best athlete i can be. I have a condition known as Charcot Marie Tooth Disease (CMT). This affects my ability to change direction and speed at a fast pace which is a big part of Table Tennis. I also have reduced muscle power and mobility issues that impact me in everyday life. Being born with CMT, I’ve always looked at sport as a way to keep me as strong and as mobile as possible. Table tennis is a huge passion of mine and i already feel so fortunate to be doing what i love day in day out. Competing at the Paralympic Games has been a dream of mine since i started to play Table Tennis but now that dream has become a target within reach. In order to reach this target I’m in need of your support. The support you give, will help me in my bid to be selected to go to the Paralympic games in Tokyo and compete for Great Britain on the biggest stage. Your generous donations will allow me to take my game to the next level by providing vital financial aid that will allow me to continue to train and compete at the highest level I can. With the funds raised I will look to broaden my experiences by looking to practice at a variety of table tennis training facilities across Europe, competing across the UK in able bodied competitions in order to best prepare myself for international competitions and help me enhance my physical recovery by purchasing therapeutic aids such as foam rollers, massage therapy guns and TheraBands to improve my mobility.I will post regular updates about my progression, the ups and downs of training, travelling and competing in a bid to qualify for selection. I am so close to achieving my dream and with your support i feel like it could be done.
