Help Us Help Wyatt Kick Cancer

I first met Wyatt when he was a seventh grade student sitting in my English class.  He caught my attention after not doing so well on his vocabulary quiz.  When I talked with him about it, he sheepishly admitted that he had not been prepared. 

Later, when he was diagnosed with cancer, I wasn't prepared.  Wasn't prepared for him to lose all of that hockey hair.  Wasn't prepared for him to spend seventy days in the hospital.  Wasn't prepared for the chemo, radiation, ambulance rides, physical therapy, lost school time, missing friends. 

As it all piled on for Wyatt and his family, I wondered, "What can I do?" I don't have many talents.  I can't set up a concert.  I don't know how to organize a benefit.  I can't sing.  I can't juggle.

But I can run.

So I talked it over with my family, and without hesitation, they said, "Let's do something together!  And let's make it big!"

"Let's run a marathon!"

So, in dedication to Wyatt, we started to train.  All summer long we trained wherever we were.  We ran in Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska.  My mom even ran in Ethiopia!

And on November 16th, all seven of us are going to run together.

We can do the running.  But it takes a community to kick cancer.

We need you to help us.  For every mile we run we'd like to raise $100.  That would raise a total of $2,620, all for Wyatt's family.  All money we raise will go to Wyatt's family's needs.
