Fenix Farm is a small startup nonprofit that seeks to help children realize their fullest potential in education and in their community. Our mission is to combine farming and counseling to develop strengths and aspirations in children while working in collaboration with families, schools, and communities to make sustainable changes in the lives of children. We feel very passionately about the ability to radically change a child's life, by providing experiences that push children to connect emotionally with animals and food.
We focus on giving children time and space to reflect, renew and determine a new path for themselves. We do this by creating an environment where they feel respected and are given opportunities to develop leadership. Fenix Farm is expanding in the next year and looking to grow our farming program with additional livestock and nature therapy programs in our garden.
Expanding our current fencing to include paddocks across our additional 13 acres will accelerate our ability to impact youth. We will build a $30,000.00 Paddock Paradise® system to manage horses and livestock based upon the lifestyles of the naturally healthy U.S. Great Basin wild horses. It was conceived as a way for horse owners to provide domestic equines with an environment that more closely resembles their natural habitat. The principal goal of Pasture Paradise is to facilitate health and soundness - both physical and mental - in our horses.
We are looking to raise the initial $30,000 for infrastructure costs.
