Femmebit Festival LA is a curated festival featuring the most current and relevant work in the field of video art and VR— specifically created in Los Angeles, and focusing on over 31 women artists who use computer code, VR, and experiment with various softwares.
We hope to represent what's happening "on the ground" for this art genre in LA. Our exhibition is grassroots, created by four working women artists, who turn over every stone within and outside various art institutions.

Many of the artists make work independent of financial support. We would like to make this event 100% free for the public. The bulk of the costs for this event are audio/visual equipment. All donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE by DONATING TO our PARTNER HERE: WOAH (WE OPEN ART HOUSES). SEE TIERED SPONSOR CATEGORIES BELOW.

Exhibition themes center around women in technology; women breaking into industries as creative disruptors; representation of the arts in Los Angeles and the publicness of art; a recognition and celebration of the interconnectedness of women artists with nationwide appeal.

Many of our artists have press in Artforum, Art in America, NY Times, LA Times, Artsy, Vice, Wired, Interview, and Huff Post. The artist list is growing, and we are awaiting confirmation from a few other key speakers.

This festival is located at Human Resources and includes an opening night, a panel of speakers, and a live performance (dates: Nov. 18th - 20th). We will have a special Virtual Reality room as well. We will also be live streaming the event through various partnerships to maximize our audience to 650,000+ members!

Earlier in November, the exhibition will also be showcased during LA Weekly's Artopia, on the 69th and 70th floors of the new OUE Skyspace building, Nov. 5th, 8 pm, DTLA and on the 37,000 foot screen outside the Marriott in DTLA all November!

We need the money as soon as possible, as the event exhibition is fast approaching (November 18th - 20th, 2016)! We have only a month left! This is a passion project to provide greater recognition to  a strong community of working women artists whose voices deserve to be heard! We hope to provide our sponsors with a tierd sponsorship package (please click on document link).

This will be an event to remember and we hope you can help us make our dreams possible!

Thank you for making this event possible: at this time the curators are sleeping and/ or recovering from this high-impact event, involving various time sensitive and time instensive technical elements.

If you have not already seen our last panel discussion, please check it out via our Facebook page (search: Femmebit), where it was livestreamed(!) and is now recorded: https://www.facebook.com/femmebit/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel

This panel discussion is important for ANY art professional or creative as it seeks to address multiple aspects of women in the workplace, brand strategy, and artists as strategists. Alison Greenberg, Jenna Isken of Siegel+Gale and Samantha Culp of Paloma Powers fearlessly address dialogue on feminism in branding / advertisements / big business, making possible alternative interpretations.

Thanks to the generous support of Siegel+Gale, a global brand strategy, design, and experience firm, (who donated directly to WOAH), as well as at-the-door contributions throughout the event. We did raise enough funding to make this project possible. The final steps of our donation promises will be made once curators wake up from sleeping.

Thank you,
Janna, Sharsten, Kate, Giselle and Julieta
