Have you ever come so close to achieving a desired goal and you slightly missed it? it can be very painful.
Hi, I am Femi, I have always dreamt of becoming very relevant to the world regardless of my background. I believe I am very intelligent and I always see it as a responsibility to the people around me. I got a lifetime opportunity of being admitted to Carnegie Mellon Univeristy Africa, Rwanda to study Electrical and Computer Engineering and I got so close to becoming enrolled as a student.
I attended the one month orientation with the hope of getting any form of financial aid which the school was actively working on. unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any. Rather than loosing the opportunity completetly, I decided to defer the admission till spring semester (January, 2018).
I come from a polygamous home and I happen to be the only child of my father who has made it this far. My siblings have stopped schooling due to the financial difficulties at home and I am currently their only hope. So supporting me is like supporting a family.
I have also being a very hardworking person. In order to be relevant I have been doing a lot of relevant online courses and I have also tried to working to support my education.
My dream is to be one of the worlds greatest researcher in the aspect of Artificial intelligence and robotics but it would not be possible without good education. So supporting me is like supporting a generation.
I believe Carnegie Mellon University has reached out to Africa through their $30 000 reduction for tuition in their African Campus but the remaining fee is still challenging for me to pay and that is why this campaign is started. I would greatly appreciate every single contribution.
