The Lisa Akbari Foundation honors Lisa Akbari , a humanitarian aid worker in Afghanistan killed around 8 PM on Sunday 12/20/15 in Kabul Afghanistan as she left the gym she frequented.
Lisa's friends and family describe her as a gift to humanity and as an anchor for many of them during their hardest times in life. Despite working in some of the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan as a human terrain team analyst and with NGOs, she was endlessly self sacrificing in her work to help the women and children of Afghanistan. As it would be all too tempting to give in to the kind of bitterness and hate that motivated her murderer in reply, her family and friends instead choose to ensure her death becomes a force for good in the world by continuing her mission in life in helping the women and children of Afghanistan.
