Feeding Homeless Vets for Easter

The holidays can be lonely for many Veterans who have no where to go and feel that there is no one in this world who cares about them.....well at I AM ADAPTIVE...
WE CARE!!!  We've helped feed the Homeless Veterans at Vetsville Cease Firehouse for the past 3 years on all major holidays and we cannot slow down now! 

IAA Founders Evyn & Marilyn Zosia experienced a terrible loss just days before feeding VetsVille this past November, as Evyn's Father David, a Veteran himself became ill and took his own life. It was a tragic loss, and one we never expected and now he has become part of the 22 Veterans who end their lives every day in America.  As if Veterans weren't already a topic dear to our hearts, it has become more important than ever, that we do what we can to help Veterans feel loved and cared for. David loved visiting Vetsville with us, and will be missed on all our future visits.  
Thanks to all of your donations we were able to provide a full Thanksgiving meal, tons of extra groceries, full bed sets, new fleece blankets, quilts, long sleeve sweaters/shirts/flannels/thermals and a day full of memories thanks to YOUR HELP AND LOVE!


We would like to now provide these Veterans an amazing Easter Meal and some daily items they need. Some of the Veterans are facing difficult Health problems and financial times at Vetville Cease Fire House and we want to help alleviate some of the pressure.

HOW DID WE FIND VETSVILLE??

It was the middle of October 2014, just 1 month after we created I AM ADAPTIVE™, and Co-Founder Evyn Zosia was passing through the house doing some laundry when she overheard the news on the television say, "A veteran robs a bank in West palm Beach just so he could have a warm meal and a place to lay his head." Evyn filled with tears and ran for a piece of paper to write down any information that she could on the man. A beautiful older blonde woman came on and spoke of how this is such a huge problem and that she would be helping the man...a short image was shown and she was able to get the name "Vetsville Ceasefire House" with owner Chris Noel.

The next month we raised money in the community by having food donation boxes at 2 CrossFit gyms and signing people up to get turkeys, hams and assigning people cooking duties for the actual day. On thanksgiving day we all (about 20 of us) met at the house at 11:30 to finish cooking at the Vestville house and to set up tables and anything they needed. The house manager pulled me aside, after about 40 minutes of people conversing with the Veterans and having a great time, and with amazement plus some tears in his eyes he told me, "I didn't expect any of this...I didn't even expect you to show up because many people don't. Last year someone said they were going to help us for Thanksgiving and we are still waiting for them, I had to go and get some sandwiches for the guys. This is beyond anything I could have ever imagined for these men."
