FEEDING THE HOMELESS ON CHRISTMAS

Donation protected
When the eternal Son of God was born in human flesh from the Most Pure Virgin, He said, "I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me to drink. Whatever you do for the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do for me."

Holy Tradition teaches us that our voluntary fasting must be coupled with alleviating the involuntary fasting of the poor and the needy.

This is Orthodoxy in Dialogue's (www.orthodoxyindialogue.com) second annual Nativity Fast fundraiser to feed the homeless on the holy day of our Saviour's birth.

On Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, a small team of adults and children will walk the streets of downtown Toronto delivering cash into the hands of the very many homeless men and women we meet. Many of them will be spending our frigid, late December nights out of doors. With cash in hand they can not only fill their bellies and bring joy to their souls, but also come in out of the cold.

Last year we collected $2000 from our brothers, sisters, and friends in Christ around the planet. This enabled us to give $40 each to 50 individuals. This year, with God's blessing and your help, we hope to give a higher amount to a greater number of people.

Whether you give $5.00 or $50 or $500, the God of love who came down from heaven as a Newborn Child and dwelt among us sees your generous heart and blesses your intention.

Please share this widely with all your email and social media contacts.

We thank you in advance not only for your kindly donation, but also for your fervent prayers for the success of this project.
