Hello! My name is Shannon Grant and I was the victim of a hit-and-run accident on College Avenue in Appleton, Wisconsin on October 9th of last year. I fortunately made it out, though, with a broken femur and fractured pelvis. Very thankfully and with some assorted metal pieces surgically placed in my body, I've recovered pretty well, which I owe completely to my family, friends, doctors/physical therapists, and my school.
The person who hit me is still out there somewhere, presumably driving the car with the grill which I dented.
As my family has been in a difficult financial position for a few years, my chief reason for starting this page is to cover the rest of my medical bills. I was hospitalized and in a rehabilitation facility for three weeks and was receiving physical theraphy until spring of this year. I have been willing this person to come forward, in order to receive insurance money to pay off the balance and to save for future medical costs, of which there potentially could be many. Any funds raised from this page will go toward paying off current and future medical bills and tuition payments.
As it is, my family and I have received such an unbelievable amount of love and care from the Appleton and Lawrence communities and from our neighborhood and friends at home in New York, which is partially why it has taken me so long (and still with the strong encouragement of friends) to start this page and to ask more of the people who have already helped me so profoundly.
