Dear friends,

I'm reaching out to you to help my brother Sam and his struggle with what took place last month while he was helping our cousin move.

He was was loading a truck and was on top of the load, when he fell off of the side and landed on his feet, breaking both feet and ankles. He was rushed to emergency and they began what was to become many surgeries.

Throughout these past few weeks we didn't know what to do or how to go about helping on his road to recovery. He will certainly need many more surgeries, and was flown to his home town of Fox Creek. My mom is with him and she has told me a few details on his situation. I will keep you updated.

He has to travel 730 KM back to his doctor who was closest to him when the accident occurred. This was in Lethbridge Alberta. My mom will be taking care of him and driving him to any and all of the appointments necessary.
The costs will be considerably large with my moms need of gas, food and rest.

We've been told he won't walk for a year. For these these first few months he will be traveling either to Lethbridge or back and forth to the hospital in Fox Creek. My mom will stay by his side. Her home is in Rocky Mountain House, she is 77 years old and will do everything for him.

I want to say one more more thing, this is my (foster) family. I have never felt like they were my foster family, I've always felt that at the moment I arrived I belonged. This was 40 years ago. I'm thankful/grateful for my mom and my family for helping me.

Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
I will keep you all updated as we go on this road to recovery together.
Thank you,
Myrna

Hi dear friends and family,
I would like to update everyone with all the things that have happened with my brother. First, I would like to say thank you all for your prayers and all your help.
My brother had another operation in Lethbridge, it went well, but, he is still in severe pain. He arrived back in Fox Creek and the hospital was so filled (flu!), that him and my mom had to go to his house and this is where they are at today.
Two things he's dealing with is, getting out his medication and the beginning of his physiotherapy on the 10th.
I was worried about an infection from opened cuts, if the hospital was too full, but my mom assured me that his cuts have been healing so she's not worried about that.
Right now I think the most important thing for him is getting relief from the pain, as I just found out that his full medicine isn't covered, only a portion. That really broke my heart to hear this last night. My moms going into the pharmacy to find out more about it today.
I will keep you updated and to everyone, my family thanks you so very much.
