All of my life I dreamt of having that one life-changing adventure that would set me on a course to achieve an extraordinary life. Now I'm doing it, and I want you to join me! I will be bicycling across America – traveling east coast to west coast -- on a quest to rebuild my marriage and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Throughout the trip, I plan to visit interesting locations and to meet up with some amazing people. Along the way, I'll be sharing all of the excitement, as well as the bumps in the road with my supporters through blogging and posting about my experience. The road will have it ups and downs, but together we'll get there.

Use of Funds

I use the funds to buy items I need to continue cycling across country (e.g. riding gear, camping gear, extra clothes, shoes, bungee cords, tires, tubes, repair kits, etc.). Some of the repairs needed to be done by professional bike shop personnel. Some of the shops familiar with my trip, graciously provided me with free service. Still, many professional repairs were not free, and were paid for out of the funds. Funds have also been spent on typical travel and living expenses (e.g. food, hotels/motels, campsites, camping gear, etc.). For safety purposes – both general and other considerations associated with my weight -- I have a support vehicle that trails me while I ride. Funds were also used to pay for fuel and maintenance of this support vehicle.

The main goal stated at the beginning of my journey was for me to take a big step forward in my life in order to win back my wife. I'm very please to say that this part of the mission is accomplished. We have our work cut out for us, and a long trip across country ahead of us, but I truly believe that this adventure together will bond us like never before. The funds have been used to fly my wife to join me on the road. I also bought a bike and riding gear for her. I bought a laptop in order to edit and post videos, as well as to blog and post updates for supporters. I also purchased a case for the laptop to help protect it from damage while on the road. Some funds were used for doctor visits to care for injuries and sickness during the trip. We have recently purchased an RV which will reduce the costs associated with hotel/motel stays. The funds were not used to purchase the RV. Funds will be used moving forward for fuel and maintenance costs for the RV.

Good ride today started really late due to a few things that came up in the morning. Would have got 30 in but my wife sent her friend to snatched me because it was dark and my phone died. I'll try again tomorrow. Doing a workout before bed. Dr. Appointment in the morning

Off to bed folks riding in the morning then after my ride I'll be contacting emergency dental clinics to try to get in. The pain is pretty unbearable at times. Hopefully I can get the work done quickly and cheaply. Also if any back yard mechanics want to find me and help me figure out how to get to my fill port for the brake fluid on the rv I would owe ya big time. My hands just don't fit.
Anyway, have a great night and thank you for supporting the ride, my teeth thank you in advance!

Got a good early ride in covered 10 miles pretty quick for me. Hot but not too bad. But the tubes I knew wouldn't work, didn't work. So I had to bite the bullet and get the correct width. Red Star bicycles hooked me up and got me back on the road! Such a great guy there. Right by the river walk in Dallas. Go check them out! But by the time I got out and back towards my point I stopped at, the Temps climbed and it was way too hot to continue. But that's ok, I learned I have to change my route, 175 turns into a freeway and there is no way I'm gonna ride that thing. I'll be looking for an alt route this afternoon during the down time. Since we were near, we stopped for some photos at Gas Money too for my father n law and my gear head supporters.

See the description for what the funds are used for. Anything that helps us complete the journey. Everything from meds, repairs, sights, food, gas, tubes, chains, anything to help us write a great book and complete the goal and share it with you.
