Fare Share Dinner at The Bridge

Help the homeless celebrate a special evening for as little as $5.
Chefs Mark Wootton, and Scott Tobey of Garden Cafe, along with Chef Ryan Barnett of Stephan Pyles/Flora Street Cafe, and Chef Nicole Gossling of Gossling Aprons, formerly of Cafe Momentum, have decided to provide a freshly prepared, high quality meal for the Guests at The Bridge in Downtown Dallas.
Simple as that.
The City of Dallas is well known for its incredible dining scene and dedicated epicures. A City in which $100 events sell out in minutes. The City that spends more on dining out than any other in the Nation by far.
We hope to capture a very small amount of that enthusiasm for this dinner event.
We are looking to raise funds to feed approximately 280 Guests of The Bridge the kind of meal they are not fortunate enough to have on a regular basis.
Our goal is set at $40 per guest plus GoFundMe's fees. For only $40 you can purchase dinner for one of these folks.
Because Jason Pinardo said it better than I can in the campaign that inspired this one:
"I genuinely believe that this night will change someone's life. I know 149 people are going to walk away from this event full, warm and happy. But I also believe, that ONE person will walk away from this night with a new found sense of hope. And maybe, just maybe that hope will build and allow this person to take the first step to getting back on thier feet.
Am I wrong? Maybe.
Am I crazy? Totally. But I'd rather try and be wrong, then sit here and hope the problem just goes away...."

Since opening in May 2008, The Bridge
has evolved into an internationally recognized
model for homeless recovery, establishing
and leveraging key partnerships to ensure its
guests have access to a variety of services that
are essential to their recovery from homelessness—
all in one place. With the recent closing of Tent City in Dallas, the issue of homelessness has never demanded
more attention.

More than 2,400 housing placements for people experiencing or at-risk of experiencing long-term homelessness. Collaborating to help reduce surrounding area crime. Serious crime (Part I offenses) downtown has dropped 47 percent since The Bridge opened, according to Dallas Police Department data. Homeless jail stays have been significantly reduced resulting in millions of dollars of cost benefits, according to Dallas County Criminal Justice data.
