My name is Monica Land. I'm Fannie Lou Hamer's niece and the producer of the upcoming documentary, Fannie Lou Hamer’s America. We, the film production and educational curriculum development team, would love your help to complete our documentary sharing the life and legacy of civil rights icon and humanitarian Fannie Lou Hamer.
Fannie Lou Hamer's America Teaser Clip
A dynamic speaker, Aunt Fannie Lou used stories from her own life to hold America accountable for the racism that defined every aspect of her existence—from the turn-of-the-century cotton plantations of the Mississippi Delta where she was reared to her premature death in an all-black hospital in 1977 at the age of 59.
We are so passionate about this film and preserving Aunt Fannie Lou’s legacy and humanitarian efforts, just as many of you are. So, we’re asking for your help. We’re humbly asking that everyone who has been touched by her words donate a minimum of $5. Your donation makes you a part of a project that is truly historic and will set the standard for EVERYTHING Fannie Lou Hamer. For educators, we have a special treat for you! You will have an ongoing part of our project as our educational curriculum, Find Your Voice, will be interactive!
Fannie Lou Hamer’s America features rare audiovisual items from her activist career and comments from her family. But most importantly, the documentary allows Aunt Fannie Lou to tell her own life story – in her own words – of growing up black and poor, hungry and abused.

We’re in our research and fundraising stage and by donating, you not only support the completion of the film, but our efforts to educate children across the nation about Aunt Fannie Lou and our civil rights history. We'd be so grateful if you help us reach our goal!
