Family killed in Utah house fire

Early on the morning of November 19, Adam got a call that his house in Murray, Utah was on fire. He immediately returned home, where he found his home destroyed. Though firefighters had fought hard to gain access to the upper floor of the house, by the time they got there, his seven-year-old stepdaughter and her grandmother were both dead. The family lost everything.
Adam was raised in Utah and, due to difficult circumstances at home, spent part of his teenage years on the street, homeless. A fighter by nature, he worked hard for a better life, eventually finding full-time employment and marrying his wife, who is expecting their first child together. The marriage also brought his stepdaughter, who he was hoping to adopt legally. Adam currently works two jobs to support his family – one at a local retail store and the other at a Utah-based charity, where he loads shipping containers full of donated medical supplies to send worldwide to refugees, the homeless and others in need. Just the Friday before the fire, Adam was talking about his dream to one day open a full-service homeless shelter, including housing, meals, job training and placement services, and drug addiction recovery and counseling, to help those who were living on the streets as he was.
What irony that Adam and his family are now homeless like those he aims to serve.
Funds donated will be withdrawn directly to Adam's own account and will help pay for the funerals of Adam’s stepdaughter and mother-in-law. Additional funds will assist Adam and his family in replacing belongings and getting back on their feet.
