Easton Family's Flood recovery
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
After five years of devastating drought, followed by the worst flooding our district has on record, family and friends have been asking how they can help our little family. As we live a hundred kilometres from town other forms of employment are not possible and we are not sure how we will endure the next few years with so few stock left to sell.
Initially, I thought we could soldier on alone but now we have realised we will be lucky to have 20 % of our stock survive. The remaining stock are highly susceptible to disease and infection so we’re expecting further losses. Re-stocking will be very expensive, next to impossible without help. Government subsidies are welcome but the process to access them is long and painful and usually requires graziers to have money up front to spend in order for them to be reimbursed. It's not an option for us right now. My family has been in this area for more than a hundred years and it breaks my heart to think my family might not be able to carry on this legacy. We are not alone in this situation. There are many, many other bush families that need support too but each family helped enables that family to help others and ensures our bush community survives this terrible disaster.
Thank you,
In honour of your support the cattle will be named after you and will be displayed on their ear tag. Please place your names in the comments section and we will name your cow when it arrives.
With all the gratitude we can muster and warmest thanks,
The Easton Family
