The Inside Out Project: Faces of the 47th
Facing the educational future of Oklahoma one portrait at a time.
In 2018, Oklahoma was ranked 47th nationally in overall educational funding. This project represents the hundreds of thousands of students left behind by a decade of legislative inaction. We hope to provide a reminder through the power of visual art for voters to stand up for the future of Oklahoma by committing to vote pro-education.
Sarah Agee has created a statewide art project to showcase Oklahoma's educational funding issues while participating in a worldwide project, Inside Out. Learn more about Inside Out at www.insideoutproject.net/en
Faces of the 47th will be installed in 5 communities within Oklahoma and will consist of large-scale, outdoor photographic portraits of public school students from across the state. We are so pleased that the incredible Neil Chapman (www.neilchapman.net) has agreed to lead the photography of the project. Each installation site will be lead by local artists. Communities and sites chosen are a diverse mix of all that the great state of Oklahoma has to offer. Our goal is to complete all installations by Election Day 2018.
We are also thrilled to announce that filmmaker Cacky Poarch will be following and recording the journey of the project and creating a documentary that will be completed in fall 2018.
Your generous donation toward this project will be used to fund installation equipment, materials and rentals as well as marketing, gas and travel, insurance and to contribute to the Inside Out project so that future projects just like ours can come to fruition worldwide.
