Face to face head and neck cancer!
I am a squamous cell carcinoma stage four survivor of 12 years with an aggressive reconstruction jaw surgery. I am celebrating 3 milestones this year. One is my survivorship two I will be 65 and three I officially retire from the provincial government of 35 years. For my 65 birthday I want to celebrate it with donations. For the first time in Canada an account will be set up for specifically for head and cancer patients. The funds will be used for other patients fighting for their lives in Canada. The funds will be used for patients who have to travel for treatment, medical needs not covered by prescriptions, and what ever we financially stress over during treatment . The more donated the more we can give back to those in need. I am an advocate/advisor for the most compassionate and caring group in Canada. They are a group called Canadian Cancer Survivor Network. They are a strong support for many cancers including head and neck. I am the head advisor for head and neck with CCSN. I have knocked on many doors for over 8 years trying to gain awareness and support. It took just this year connecting with CCSN to take my passion serious for a strong support, awareness, education, up to date information site for head and neck and other cancers. We can be found on linkin, Twitter, and their website. This has been my dream from the time I was back on my feet and got back my independence. After that nothing could stop me. I thank everyone who will contribute and donate to this cancer, we have been kept in the dark long enough.+ Read More
